TradeNet is a network of partners interchanging an electronic documentation related to the activities of foreign trade.
The TradeNet network is a private network reserved for the whole foreign trade operators. It is a nonopen network (or not accessible) on Internet, but using the same technologies.

TTN, manager of this network, presents to its customers two different modes to take advantage of the TradeNet services, and more than one technique to reach its data center platform.
Access modes and the data-processing infrastructure of the customer:
  The Web mode
  EDI Mode
Techniques of access and the infrastructure telecoms of the customer:
The access through the Commutated Telephone Network
The access by the Frame Relay network
The access by the package commuting network (X25)
The access by Specialized Connection
What to choose ?

Access modes and customer data-processing infrastructure:

The Web mode :

it is about the use of the HTTP protocol, used on Internet, to download blank forms, to fill them by the data related to the customer declaration, then to transmit them to the partners of TradeNet service for later processing. The interface of the Web mode exploitation for the user is a standard navigator (type Internet Explorer, Netscape). the operator thus needs certain equipment and software to be able to carry out his activity via the TradeNet network:

The Hardware:
A computer, provided with a scanner and a printer for the processing of the enclosures.

The Software: the navigator Web (Internet Explorer version 5.0 or more, Netscape version 6 or more, the software Acrobat Reader (see the correspondence operating system and version of Acrobat Reader) and a software of image processing (generally provided with the scanner).

Another recommendation: a solution of suitable computer security (antivirus...).

The EDI mode :

EDI mode is defined as being a data communication between two applications: the customer professional software, which allows the user to carries out his foreign trade operations, and the EDI application of TTN which makes communicate the data between the customers and the other partners of the TradeNet service.
With this intention, the professional software makes communicate its data by the means of a messenger tool X400 (Mailmax) or messenger SMTP/POP3 towards the messenger slaves of TTN.
Consequently, the infrastructure of the customer includes:

The Hardware: A computer, provided with a scanner and a printer for the treatment of the enclosures.

The Software: : The professional software, software of image processing (generally provided with the scanner), the interfacing application with TTN, translator TX2 (if mode EDI-EDIFACT) and the messenger tool (X400 or SMTP/POP3).

Another recommendation: A solution of suitable computer security (antivirus...).

Access techniques and customer telecoms infrastructure:

Tunisia TradeNet presents to its customers and partners a diversified choice of
Protocols and data transmission media for the access to its services, and put on
disposal by Tunisie Télécom.

The access through the Commutated Telephone Network :

This mode of connection is recommended to the customers wishing to connect themselves to a single-unit and generally for the Web access mode. Similar to an Internet connection, the customer is connected through a modem installed on his computer and a telephone line, preferably not passing by his telephone switchboard. The TradeNet service take advantage from the reductions on the costs of telephone call, as is the case for the Internet on the telephone network: 20 millimes the minute during the day and 14 millimes the minute during night time (invoiced by Tunisie Télécom).

Access through the Frame Relay network :

This access is generally dedicated to the customers profiting from the EDI access mode. Nevertheless, it can be advised to the customers reaching the TradeNet service in Web mode, if these customers present a significant volume of service use, justifying the choice of fixed expenses payment (case of Frame Relay FR instead of the volumetric expenses of the Commutated Telephone Network. Please see Tunisie Télécom pricelist (http://www.tunisietelecom.tn/tarif_TD.htm) To know more about the expenses of connection and Frame Relay exploitation. The pre-required for this connection technique are: an FR access to be acquired from close to Tunisie Télécom (on authorization Frame Relay access provided by TTN), a router supporting the FR protocol and a local network infrastructure (hub, switch, network card...) connecting the customer working unit to the router, to acquire from computers retailers.
Access through the package commuting network (X25) :
This communications protocol is forsaken more and more by the users of data transmission service of Tunisie Télécom to the advantage of the Frame Relay protocol. However, TTN still makes it possible to be connected to its services through X25 network, for WEB and EDI users not having however an access to the Frame Relay network of Tunisie Télécom. As for Frame Relay, Please see Tunisie Télécom pricelist (http://www.tunisietelecom.tn/tarif_TD.htm) for further information. The pre-required for the use of this access technique are similar to those of Frame Relay.

Access through Specialized Connection :

This access is dedicated to certain EDI partners, on which depends on the correct operation of TradeNet service (Customs, Ministry of Trade...)
